Learn the different ways to join a workspace on Booqd — scan a QR code, enter a workspace code, or use an invitation link.
Multiple Ways to Join a Workspace
Not every workspace is listed publicly on the Explore page. Many workspaces prefer to invite members directly using QR codes, invitation links, or workspace codes. Booqd supports several joining methods so you can connect with any workspace quickly, whether you're at the front desk, received an email invite, or got a code from a friend.
Join Methods at a Glance
Scanning a QR Code
QR codes are the fastest way to join a workspace. Workspace owners often display QR codes at their reception desk, on posters, flyers, business cards, or on a screen during events. When you scan the code, Booqd opens the workspace preview page automatically.
Open the QR scanner
In the Booqd app, tap the QR code icon on the Explore page or use your phone's built-in camera app.
Point your camera at the QR code
Hold your phone steady and align the QR code within the scanning frame. The app detects it automatically — no need to tap a button.
Preview the workspace
After scanning, you'll see a workspace preview showing the name, logo, description, and basic information. Review the details to make sure it's the right place.
Tap "Join" or "Request to Join"
If the workspace allows instant joining, tap Join to become a member immediately. If the workspace requires approval, you'll see Request to Join instead — the owner will review your request.
Using an Invitation Link
Workspace owners and instructors can share invitation links via email, messaging apps, or social media. These links are unique to the workspace and take you directly to the workspace preview page.
Tap the invitation link
Open the link you received. If you have the Booqd app installed, it opens directly in the app. Otherwise, it opens in your browser.
Sign in if needed
If you're not already signed in, you'll be prompted to log in or create a Booqd account first.
Preview and join
Review the workspace details on the preview page, then tap Join or Request to Join depending on the workspace's settings.
Entering a Workspace Code
Every workspace has a unique slug (a short identifier like "sunrise-yoga" or "downtown-fitness"). You can use this code to find and join any workspace, even if it's not listed publicly. This is especially handy when someone tells you the workspace name verbally or writes it down for you.
Open the Explore page
Navigate to the Explore tab in the Booqd app.
Tap "Enter Code"
Look for the Enter Code option near the search bar. Tap it to open the code entry field.
Type the workspace code
Enter the workspace slug or code exactly as it was shared with you. The code is case-insensitive.
Preview and join
The matching workspace appears. Review the details, then tap Join or Request to Join.
The Join Request Approval Flow
Some workspaces require the owner's approval before you become a member. This is common for private studios, invite-only classes, or workspaces that screen new members. Here's how the approval process works:
What Happens After Joining
Once you've successfully joined a workspace — either instantly or after approval — the following happens:
The workspace appears in your dashboard — You'll see it listed under your workspaces on the home screen.
You can browse the full schedule — All available sessions and classes become visible to you.
You can book sessions — Start booking classes, appointments, or sessions right away.
You receive workspace notifications — Get updates about new sessions, schedule changes, and announcements from the workspace.
Your membership starts — If the workspace has a default membership or trial period, it may be activated automatically.
No. If you're already a member of a workspace, the Join button will be replaced with a message indicating you're already a member. You'll be taken directly to the workspace's schedule.
If a workspace owner declines your request, you'll receive a notification. You can try reaching out to the workspace owner directly for more information, or request to join again later.
Yes. You can leave any workspace at any time from the workspace settings. Note that leaving cancels any upcoming bookings and deactivates your membership at that workspace.
